Shiraz Poonevala brings extensive expertise to the summit, with over 25 years of experience in investment and corporate banking. Since joining the G.P. Group in 2008, Shiraz has been instrumental in establishing and managing its Single Family Office. The G.P. Group, a Thailand-based conglomerate, operates across multiple geographies with diverse business activities and holds majority stakes in four publicly listed companies.

As the Head of the Family Office, Shiraz oversees all existing and new investment activities, ensuring that the family’s portfolio is well-positioned to navigate global economic and political shifts. His vast experience spans direct investment, private equity, structured finance, corporate banking, debt restructuring, and corporate advisory services.

Before joining the G.P. Group, Shiraz held significant positions in leading financial organizations. He served as the Investment Banking Head at Seamico Securities Plc., focusing on Equity Capital Market and M&A transactions in Thailand. He also held a directorial position at Paragon Partners, a boutique investment bank where he concentrated on cross-border corporate finance transactions and restructuring Thai companies. Additionally, his time at HSBC during the peak of the Asian financial crisis provided him with valuable insights into restructuring distressed debt within the corporate banking sector.

Shiraz’s academic background includes qualifications as a Chartered Accountant and a Master’s degree in Finance and Accounting. His expertise and leadership have led him to serve on the boards of several publicly listed and private companies. He is also a regular speaker at leading events on investments, finance, and family offices.
