About Thomas Knudsen


Thomas Knudsen transitioned from a distinguished global career in logistics and shipping to his current role as Principal of Rumah Group, where he directs the family’s ESG and impact investment initiatives. Formerly the Group CEO of Toll Group and now its Non-Executive Chairman, he also advises private equity firms A.P. Moller Capital and EQT, along with climate venture capital funds Audacy Ventures and Nine Realms.


Born in Denmark and now a naturalized Singaporean, Thomas has lived in Singapore for over 15 years. His career includes leadership roles across the Middle East, North America, Europe, and Asia. He is a passionate advocate for sustainable ocean practices, actively contributing to ocean-climate philanthropy through Rumah Foundation and Coastal Natives. Additionally, he serves as a Board Director of =DREAMS Singapore.


In his leisure time, Thomas is an avid scuba diving instructor with over two thousand dives. He holds an Executive Master of Management degree in Supply Chain from IE Business School and has completed executive courses at Harvard Business School and INSEAD.
